    Empowering Indigenous Climate Leadership

    The Indigenous Leadership Fund supports climate action by providing funding for projects that are designed and led by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. The goal is to support energy sovereignty and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating local economic opportunities.

    What's Eligible?

    • Renewable Energy: Community-scale solar, wind, or geothermal projects.
    • Energy Efficiency: Deep retrofits for community buildings and housing.
    • Heating Solutions: Switching remote communities from diesel to low-carbon heating (biomass, heat pumps).

    Note: This fund is part of the Low Carbon Economy Fund and emphasizes projects that provide direct benefits to Indigenous communities.
